The Appearance of Hemorrhoids
Within the anal canal their are pads of tissue that control the flow of stool. They are a necessary part of your body and are made up of blood vessels and supporting tissue. If something happens to the vessels or supporting tissue the pads can bleed, the vessels can appear outside the anus and so on. The term hemorrhoid now refers to the condition.
If the veins of the area become swollen they can be pushed out. You may feel a protrusion in the anal area. They can extend out of the anus and appear as a small ball or groups of balls. This is referred to as an external hemorrhoid.
Amongst the many symptoms of hemorrhoids is the appearance of bright red blood in the stool, in the toilet, on the toilet tissue. It is important to consult your doctor as blood can sometimes be a symptom of a more serious condition and not due to the hemorrhoid’s condition.
