Hemorrhoids And Exercise - Is It A Good Idea To Exercise When There Is A Hemorrhoid Problem
HemorrhoidNo one wants to make the pain, itching, burning, and discomfort of hemorrhoids any worse since it’s already bad enough. Many wonder what to do about their exercise routines while suffering from hemorrhoids.
If you wonder if you can exercise or not, the answer isn’t actually a yes or no type answer. The issue is stress. If what you do causes stress to the hemorrhoid it will cause them to swell more making the problem much worse which will take longer to heal.
Weight lifting, especially heavy weights are a concern when you have a hemorrhoid problem. Squatting for example puts way too much stress on the hemorrhoid area making it easy for the problem to become worse. Try you normal chest, arms, and back routines but just take notice of whether your hemorrhoids are getting too stressed.
When it comes to running or cardiovascular exercises, you have to be observant. If your normal routine makes the hemorrhoid worse, then you can’t do that anymore. It’s best to start off easy and work your way up to make sure you aren’t going too hard. If it causes problems, stop.
Take a warm bath after any exercise that you do. This will help the hemorrhoid in a variety of ways. It will clean the area, relieve the pain, and help reduce the swelling of the hemorrhoid. Exercise or not, this is a good daily practice to consider while having a hemorrhoid problem.
Does this mean that you should not do any exercise at all during a hemorrhoid issue?
Sitting on the hemorrhoid all day long is going to be just as bad as doing too much or too stressful exercise. If you can’t do your normal routine because it causes too much swelling, walking around is still something that needs to be done. Consider frequent, quick walks through the day to keep the blood flowing especially if you are in a job where you sit all day.
