Seven Ways To Stop Bleeding Hemorrhoids
HemorrhoidWhen the rectal and anal veins become inflamed and swollen, hemorrhoids occur. They can cause much pain and itch and general discomfort. Seventy five percent of Americans have suffered from hemorrhoids.
While painful, they can often be treated before they become worse. However, occasionally the hemorrhoids will get worse and begin to bleed. Normally this occurs after a bowel movement. Outside the anus, hemorrhoids can form, which might bleed. Hemorrhoids can also occur inside the rectum, and though usually you don’t feel pain from them, they still bleed.
Methods do exist to staunch the bleeding from hemorrhoids.
1)Ointments - Apply ointments or preparations for hemorrhoids. Most markets will sell these. The ointment will relieve the pain, in addition to relieving inflammation of the hemorrhoids. This will cause the bleeding to cease.
2)Bathing - Soak in a tub of warm water. Use just a few inches of warm water in your bathtub. Elevate your knees in order to allow your posterior to soak. This will help the hemorrhoids to shrink and get your blood circulating.
3)Cleanliness ” Keep the area around your anus and rectum clean. Make washing with soap and water a regular habit. This is really important after a bowel movement. This ensures that the spot is clean and infection-free.
4) Fluids - Constipation can be easily avoided if you do what you can. If you can drink eight glasses of water at a minimum daily, you will help your stools stay loose. Hemorrhoids can be made to bleed by stools that are hard, so this is important.
5)Fiber - The addition of fiber in your diet is mandatory to keep hemorrhoids from bleeding. Your stools will be loose and bulky thanks to the fiber. This will help to keep you from becoming constipated. Dietary fiber may be obtained by consuming whole grains and plenty of veggies.
6) Ice - You can also place an icepack where it hurts. Use them for 15 to 20 minute intervals. There will be a reduction in size and swelling of the hemorrhoids. This will prevent bleeding from your hemorrhoids.
7)Witch Hazel - Prior to applying witch hazel, thoroughly cleanse your posterior region. Chill the bottle of Witch Hazel in ice. Put Witch Hazel on a cotton ball and place it on your rectum. This should reduce pain and help shrink the hemorrhoids which often stops the bleeding.
It is important to see a doctor whenever you notice blood in your stools, or on the toilet paper. But it is always important to remember that a lot of other serious problems apart from hemorrhoids can cause bleeding. Do not figure the hemorrhoids are causing this. The determination can be made by your doctor for further examination for cancer of the rectum or any other problem that may be underlying.
If your doctor has determined that the hemorrhoids are causing the bleeding, and they are serious enough to warrant surgery, your doctor can decide and talk it over with you. Hemorrhoids that are bleeding can be treated at home, in many cases. You can end the bleeding by using the measures that are listed above to control the hemorrhoids.
