If you have a hemorrhoid there are many treatment options available today. If you have a thrombosed hemorrhoid then you have a hemorrhoid with a blood clot. Blood clots that develop in hemorrhoids are called thrombosis. Thrombosis is very painful. Not to mention it looks really scary. Most thrombosed hemorrhoids are purple or blue. The thrombosed hemorrhoid will bleed often. Thrombosed hemorrhoids aren’t that bad and most of the time will go away in a week or so.

Thrombosed hemorrhoids are for the most part very painful and almost all of the time you’ll need to see a doctor for pain medicine. If you can’t deal with the pain then you can have your doctor remove the thrombosed hemorrhoid. These types of hemorrhoids are the number one reason people suffer from anal bleeding. Most of the time this condition isn’t dangerous but anytime you have bleeding from the anal you should see a doctor. Sometimes you can have a more serious life threatening condition. Some people have mistaken other problems for hemorrhoids. This is why anytime you have bleeding you need to have a license professional to look at it.

If you have extreme pain in the rectum followed by bleeding chances are you have a thrombosed hemorrhoid. If you have one of these you will have pain sitting, standing, walking and when you pass stool. Most can’t deal with the pain and have it removed. Others who can deal with extreme pain will let it go away on its own. If you choose to have it removed do it in 3 days or less. If you wait after 3 days then the pain in having it removed will be worst than the actual thrombosed hemorrhoid. If you leave it alone it will go away in a few days. In worst cases it may take a couple of weeks.

The right way to treat a thrombosed hemorrhoid is not to get one! A thrombosed hemorrhoid will form when a blood clot develops in the hemorrhoid. As soon as you notice symptoms you need to treat them as soon as possible.

You can treat the swelling by sitting in warm water 2-3 times a day. This should bring down the swelling and by bringing down the swelling you can open the veins and allow blood to flow through the veins eliminating your chances of developing a thrombosis.

Another great way to avoid thrombosed hemorrhoids is to add more fiber in your diet. By adding more fiber in your diet you will soften your bowl movements and won’t strain your self when using the restroom. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables will help to reduce your weight and will increase your fiber intake. Your diet has the biggest role in causing and preventing hemorrhoids. People who eat high fiber diets are less likely to develop hemorrhoid problems. If you eat a diet in high processed foods you can expect to develop major hemorrhoid problems including a thrombosed hemorrhoid.

The more fluids in your intake the better off you’ll be. If you don’t drink enough water it can cause constipation. If you’re constipated your stool is hard and aggravates the already swollen veins causing you to get a thrombosed hemorrhoid. To avoid getting a thrombosed hemorrhoid drink plenty of water and increase your fiber intake this will soften the stool making it easier to get a bowl movement.
